23 Bucks And Change

I made the above amount last night, after having sat down around 9 p.m. and made 5 bucks right off the bat, and then immediately ran to the store for a beer that I drank behind the store, and another that went into my pack.
Upon returning, the saxophone player was in my spot, and I had to go down the street to the other spot, which now has a new nightclub opened next door to it, which was loud.
I suppose I will be up in front of an AA group someday saying "My beer drinking started to cost me playing spots, and that's when I knew I needed help!" LOL

  1. I got up early and sold a guy a frequency counter and a function generator. Then back here and chores, then packed up some parts to send off to a friend (who's sending me $100) and packed up some boxes of stuff and my tools and soldering stuff and my electric violin, and those went up to the storage unit.

I helped my friend unload two loads and he's all out of the storage place he's been in for 20 years. I found out from him that my living in his garden shed is *not* OK with his wife at this point. Discussing this with her at his house didn't help. He's known me about 10 years but she doesn't know me that well. So I'm back to Plan A, live in the commercial building. I'm trading the much-discussed two Lee Oskar harmonicas to my friend's stepson for a couch, which I'll put in the office to sleep on. A file cabinet or two will hold personal things.

Advantages range from being really near a good trolley line, being able to practice violin both standing up because the ceiling is high enough, and being able to play at full volume, to never needing to worry about having just the right oscilloscope at hand, as the place has about 50 of 'em now.

Disadvantages are, no running water so we're going to rig something up for hand-washing etc and I'm going to join a gym for showers, and it's a bit of a sketchy neighborhood although there's never been a break-in that we know of.

I'm still planning to move in 2 weeks.

  3. Nice of you to film him, Dazar. This is what I'm hoping happens, Daniel works on his music and comes up with that ONE song, or cover, like Homeless Mustard did, and it goes viral. And it goes viral because someone with "first world" Internet access and a video phone happens to film him.

To give an example, a first-class nut and thus a hero of mine, Thoth. I don't think he wasted any time recording or filming himself, he just went out and put a lot of time into being Thoth, and the fame took care of itself.

  5. Ah, I see.

Kinda like "homeless mustard", there's more than one. Although the 2nd one seems to be just a jar of mustard, or something.
