He was feeling slightly guilty like he had overreacted to the danger posed by the tropical storm. He thought about sending word to his family that disaster was averted and that he had survived with only a missing string on the guitar, as, upon opening his case to dry it under the hand dryer at Popeye's, he discovered exactly two dollars, which he had forgotten about. He went directly to the music store and replaced the string for one dollar, thus averting calamity.
It being Labor Day, he was mildly surprised to see the Western Union open and further surprised, pleasantly, to find money waiting.

Daniel's Playing Spot Is On The Far Right |
He continued to play, despite missing his two middle strings and managed about 3 bucks in tips from people around the Hannah Casino area. (It is considered to be good luck to give a couple bucks to a musician with two missing strings).
The wired money arrived just in time for a Tuesday morning jaunt to the music store, where all six strings were replaced, and three pegs, which hold the strings in, replaced. A lighter was invested in, but no pack of cigarettes purchased, as, people unthinkingly light cigarettes and then throw them on the sidewalk, half smoked after being drawn impulsively into some shop or eatery, before finishing them. These can be broken open and re-rolled with a little time and effort; saving $4.58 each day....

Comments, to me are like deflated helium balloons with notes tied to them, found on my back porch in the morning...
