I hate the holidays.
I made 3 bucks this morning, off of about 6 people who were on the street on this Black Friday.
Last night, security people whom I've never seen before, but who were working Thanksgiving day at the swank hotel, wouldn't let me watch football from outside.
I am going to decide whether or not to jump on the train, tonight or tomorrow night, based upon tonight.....

  1. I made the trek over to "Starving Musician" to get a hard case for my uke, and they had them on sale - about half the price Gryphon Strings wanted.

I saw a lot of people walking around downtown San Jose, and a fair number of kids. I'd assume this means good busking but who knows? They've for a sort of christmas fair set up and it will be, in some form, until mid-January, complete with an ice rink. The days get very short this time of year, but unless it's raining, there's a nice sunny middle part of the day when people are out.

So far I've been able to make about $300 a month in electronics. That was a bad enough wage back in 1980. The idea was to supplement the horrible pay I knew I'd get for the electronics work with busking. I'm hoping that if use my voice some of the "good time charley" spirit I used when panhandling may come through and help me more than making sad toots on various things.

  2. Lily started on the uke, and said that it was easy; then she went to a certain type of banjo, easy too; just expose your bosoms, Alex, you'll be raking it in, too...

  3. Eww.

I dunno if you're able to follow my blog (I don't know if anyone is, in this age of the decaying internet) but I started in working on Xmas carols, and realized just about all of 'em are within my trumpet range, got out the horn, and started tooting away and sound much better.

I took the horn out today and made just a hair under $20 in three hours.

Comments, to me are like deflated helium balloons with notes tied to them, found on my back porch in the morning...
