Crunch Time

It is time for me to go out and busk on this Monday night for all I can get, and then to go sell plasma tomorrow before busking again at night.

This should shed some light upon just how broke I have become through my slothfulness over the weekend.
"Are you feeling 'well and healthy' today?"
I should have gone after money when I had the opportunity. I should always busk when I have opportunities too, because there are always going to be times when I can't because of the weather, or the bar nearby where I play deciding to crank up a PA system out front, or a toothache causing my face to swell up so playing a harmonica is difficult, etc.

Now, there is a chance that the plasma people will "defer" my donation, should I show up with the swollen side of the face as an indication of an abscessed tooth. You are only supposed to donate when you are feeling "well and healthy."

It had been raining with thunder and lightning about 3 hours before the Saints game was to kick off for about seventy thousand people on Sunday, and so I cancelled my plans to busk outside the stadium.

The worst thing that could have happened was I would have made only a few bucks -which would have given me a few more bucks than I have now.
OK, the worst thing would have been getting drenched and not making anything, but, leaving the stadium after the game ended, I would have been right up the street from the Lilly Pad, making it convenient for me to busk some more.
So, I need to go out in a little while. It is sixty six degrees out, not raining, and is a Monday night...crunch time.

  1. Is there some kind of a health clinic you can go to? Because I think an abscess is something bad enough that they can refer you to a dentist.

  2. I had the things flare up and then go away for years, before being aggravated by things as diverse as a cherry skin under the gum...laying off red meat, sugar and doing yoga type stretches, soaking in the sun and things like that have seemed to work; the trick is to not focus upon where the pain is in the jaw, but to follow the nerve to where it goes into the brain at the back of the head and press there; it is always very sore and it hurts to press on it, but it is a "sweet pain" kind of like that which an infant has when they are teething.
Right now is a watershed moment where if it starts to get any worse I'll go for antibiotics and if it keeps getting better I might have forgotten about it by this weekend...
And, they seem to refer medicaid recipients, or whatever I am -I'm really that much in the dark about the whole mess- to dentists who only do extractions; then, when you have less than half a mouth full, they want to pull the rest out, all and give you a full set of dentures.
Do black people have stronger teeth than whites, or are they better able to finagle the system in order to get free care? Because even black girls from the projects seem to have a full set of straight white teeth...Maybe they prioritize it more, not wanting to look "ghetto" at any cost (to the taxpayers?)

  3. Honestly I think blacks do have stronger teeth. And denser bones. But are more prone to things like high blood pressure. It's a trade-off.

Comments, to me are like deflated helium balloons with notes tied to them, found on my back porch in the morning...
